CarrAmerica to roll out Essention at all its properties
Puget Sound Business Journal (Seattle)
Essention Inc. said CarrAmerica Realty Corp. has begun using InfoCentre, the Seattle company's Web-based property and facility management application, throughout its national portfolio.
CarrAmerica, based in Washington, D.C., tested InfoCentre in its Pacific Northwest buildings before adopting the product at its other office properties across the country. Terms of the deal were not released.
CarrAmerica is one of the nation's largest real estate investment trusts, with more than 283 operating office properties and 10 more buildings under development.
The company's properties in the Puget Sound region include Canyon Park East in Bothell, the Willow Creek Corporate Center in Redmond, and the Redmond East Business Campus, also in Redmond.
Among other things, the InfoCentre application archives building documents in digital format, processes service requests from tenants, and manages communication between tenants and property managers. A service desk, staffed 24 hours a day, oversees the process and dispatches workers to handle requests.
Essention was established in May 2000 as a spinoff of McKinstry Co., a Seattle-based mechanical design and construction firm.
